Stopping Commercialism
From age one to age one hundred we have advertising and commercialist propaganda pounded into our eardrums and thrust in front of our eyes nearly every minute of every day. In schools, on television, on our computer screens, on billboards, in our places of work, in our places of play; everywhere we go we are bombarded with thousands of images and sounds begging us to buy.....something.

10 to 1 (and maybe even less than that) advertising beats education and cultural information/ exposure. Even when we think we aren't being advertised to, we are, with viral marketing and product placement we can never be sure who is pushing something and what exactly it is they want us to want.

In order to protect ourselves, our children, and fellow adults we at Ad Free World want to crowd out these noisy, thoughtless, and degrading advertisements with beautiful works of art and culture. We wish to replace soft drink logos with Rembrandt, penis enlargement with Parrish, Nike ads with Donatello, with a generous sprinkling of talented contemporary artists as well. We want people to want to think, we want to advertise beauty, we want people to buy truth. Most of all, we want a country of human beings, not consumerist zombies.
